Leeds United: Eni Aluko singles out ‘unbelievable’ Ethan Ampadu v Chelsea
Eni Aluko has singled out Leeds United star Ethan Ampadu for what he has done at Elland Road this season after his bargain £7million move.
The Welshman was picked out and starred in midfield despite a 3-2 defeat in the FA Cup to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday 28 February.
Ampadu proved again what an impressive job he has done since arriving at Leeds, justifying Aluko’s praise with another standout performance.
Aluko was speaking live on ITV4 ahead of the game [28 February, 19:20] when she shared: “We talk about value, Ethan Ampadu has been unbelievable. Obviously, he’s a midfielder and he’s dropped back into centre-back, we’re going to see him in midfield tonight.
“He’s been a great signing for Leeds and he’s been really, really strong.”
Ethan Ampadu impresses again for Leeds United v Chelsea
That unbelievable value Aluko mentioned was made clear after it was reported that Leeds believed they got a really good deal by bringing the midfielder in from Chelsea during the summer, paying just £7million for his services.
His performance going back to his old club was the one of an experienced head despite still being just 23 years old, and his consistency in a Leeds shirt has been one of the standouts behind his top-class displays.
Ampadu made two tackles and two interceptions in midfield, as well as winning five of seven attempted ground duels to break up play, with a 93 per cent passing accuracy showing how impressive he was both on and off the ball. [Sofascore]

If he can continue putting in those performances as consistently as he has been at Elland Road, the midfielder will make himself a real fan favourite. That’s if he hasn’t done that already – he is always willing to put in a shift for the badge.
