Leeds United confirmed XI v Brentford: Patrick Bamford absent

Jesse Marsch has named his final Leeds United XI against Brentford as he looks to keep them in the Premier League this season.

As many expected, Patrick Bamford does not make the starting eleven or the bench, so that’s the end of the season for him.

Leading the line will be, who will certainly rely on Raphinha to supplement him in the final third and give the Bees defenders a few nightmares.

Mateusz Klich is on the bench as Marsch looks to play two strikers in order to get the most from his attacking players.

Must win

A draw against Brentford could see Leeds secure their Premier League status in case Burnley lose to Newcastle.

However, they cannot afford to rely on that and must focus on things that are within their control.

Brentford are a side that just got promoted to the Premier League and still have a majority of Championship level players.

Sure, they’ve had a better season than Leeds but Marsch certainly must not tell them that in the build-up.

He’s got to build his Leeds players up as the favourites and they certainly know what is riding on this game today.

Hopefully, the Whites can get the job done and plan for life as a Premier League club next season.
