Leeds United confirmed team news v Manchester City: Adam Forshaw returns

Jesse Marsch has named a strong Leeds United starting line-up against Manchester City at Elland Road on Wednesday (28 December) in the Premier League.

The Whites are heading into this game on the back of a dramatic 4-3 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in their last game before the World Cup.

Via Twitter, the Whites have shared the playing eleven for this game. Tyler Adams is suspended for this tie. Adam Forshaw has replaced him. 20-year-old Sam Greenwood has come into the side as well in place of Crysencio Summerville.

Tough game

The World Cup break was well utilised by Leeds as they trained in Spain and played some friendlies to get themselves in proper shape.

There has been an improvement in the form before the World Cup, and Leeds need to maintain that as they are staring at a relegation battle once again.

This is a really tough game for the Whites. Manchester City are one of the contenders for the title this season, and they will be looking to get a win here and close the gap with Arsenal at the top.

Leeds should utilise this opportunity as can pull it a surprise here. Of course, it will require a tremendous effort from the team, but Leeds are capable of causing an upset.

It will be interesting to see if the defence has really improved. Diego Llorente had a poor first half of the season, but the club decided to reward him with a new contract.

In other Leeds United news, we can exclusively reveal a major decision being made on Liam Cooper after he missed the friendly defeat to Monaco.
