Leeds United confirmed starting XI v Newcastle in Premier League showdown

Leeds United have confirmed their starting XI for their final Premier League clash of 2022 as they travel to St James’ Park to take on Newcastle on New Year’s Eve.

Jesse Marsch has decided to make changes with Tyler Adams one of those to come back in after serving his suspension in that loss against Manchester City.

Confirmed on Twitter prior to kick-off, the Whites have dropped the likes of Marc Roca and Rasmus Kristensen in big changes to the side with Luke Ayling starting.

Huge.

With the teams around Leeds also struggling, it would be huge to go to Tyneside and pick up all three points against a Magpies side that are completely transformed.

They have spent their money wisely and are now challenging for the Champions League places, something that will make a win even harder to come by here.

Marsch knows that though and will take heart from the fact that his side has actually performed better against those higher up in the table, with wins over Liverpool and Chelsea already.

With an even bigger game against struggling West Ham to come on Wednesday, changes are to be expected in this busy period, and putting together some form will be critical.

Anyone can beat anyone in the Premier League, that is what makes it so special, and Leeds will not stand by and admire Newcastle here, with the hope of three points always large.

Bring it on.
