Leeds United confirm starting XI v Tottenham
Marcelo Bielsa has made no changes to his starting line-up as Leeds United prepare to take on Tottenham at Elland Road on Saturday.
With kick-off at 12:30pm, Bielsa has opted to name the same side that started the loss to Brighton last week. However, Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha are back and make the bench.
Club captain Liam Cooper is also nowhere to be seen despite being available again after serving a three-match ban.
Leeds confirmed the team news on their official Twitter account an hour prior to the game starting.
Pressure is on them
Leeds’ season is basically over with only a few positions potentially worth fighting for in the closing weeks of the campaign.
After winning promotion last term, the main goal was to avoid relegation and the Whites have done that easily with Bielsa’s team currently sitting in 11th place with 47 points and four games left to play.
We’d obviously love to see Leeds finish the season by getting into the top half and that is possibly their only goal between now and their final match.
It’s not a massive goal but it’s one worth trying to hit.
As for Spurs, they need to win.
The North London club is still in the running to qualify for the Champions League, especially after Leicester lost to Newcastle on Friday.
Ryan Mason’s side is five points away from fourth and seven away from third with four games left to play.
There’s way more pressure on Spurs than there is Leeds so let’s see how this games out because they might buckle under that weight.
In other Leeds United news, there’s been a major message sent to Leeds fans over Rodrigo De Paul.
