Leeds United coach breaks down ahead of West Brom match as image shared

Leeds United have been struck by an unfortunate setback in their preparation for Saturday’s home game against West Brom as their team coach has broken down.

The Whites welcome Albion to Elland Road on 1 March for the early Championship kick-off as Daniel Farke’s men look to carry on their impressive unbeaten run.

Tony Mowbray’s side sit fifth in the Championship, though, so this could be a tough game between the two sides who both seek promotion back to the Premier League this term.

Farke is a manager who will no doubt want calm around his side before a game, but Leeds have been given the complete opposite of that.

On their way to Elland Road from the team hotel in Leeds, the team bus has broken down with the players still said to be on board.

A picture was shared on social media by LUFC Fan Zone [1 March] of the broken-down team coach, with the drivers looking to seemingly see how the problem could be fixed.

With kick-off at 12:30pm on Saturday, this will not be what Farke wanted for his side ahead of another big game in West Yorkshire.

Leeds United looking for another victory against West Brom

Leeds United are having an excellent season under Farke, and sitting five points clear at the top of the Championship table is exactly where they would have wanted to be.

However, there is still plenty of football to be played and the Whites certainly can’t afford to get ahead of themselves at this stage in the season.

Furthermore, the West Yorkshire outfit have found themselves in difficult positions at times recently, leaving it very late to get back into the game and claim the points.

Therefore, this means there is still plenty of work to be done before the Whites can get too comfortable in their hunt for Premier League football, and a convincing win against a fellow promotion-chasing side will surely boost those aims.

With that in mind, an issue travelling to the ground was surely not what was needed for Leeds today as they try and stick to their usual pre-match routine.

Graham Smyth shared in a follow-up post on X, stating that despite having a technical issue with their transport on the way to Elland Road, a replacement coach is expected to have them at the stadium on time.

That means the difficulties shouldn’t have a big effect on Leeds‘ preparations for the game.

With the issue sorted, it is up to the United players to make sure they are in the right headspace and ready for a big game, with the opportunity to maintain their lead at the top of the table.

Farke’s men have shown their strength throughout the campaign so far and it will surely take more than this to put them off their game against West Brom.
