Leeds United called ‘Terrible’ after what happened v Preston
Leeds United baffled Adrian Durham with their performance as they rescued a point against Preston on Saturday.
The Whites took on Paul Heckinbottom’s team on 14 December, and Durham branded their display in the opening 45 minutes as “terrible” in the 1-1 draw.
Daniel Farke’s men went into the break a goal down at Deepdale, and the talkSPORT presenter was amazed by the lack of quality on show despite their impressive numbers this season and took aim at Brenden Aaronson for a wayward shot.
Speaking on talkSPORT [14 December, 13:20], Durham said: “Leeds, highest possession in the championship, second-highest xG, most big chances, most shots on target per game, top scorers in the division, and they’ve been useless going forward. They’ve been terrible.
“Brenden Aaronson spooning one into oblivion was amazing. That sums them up in an attacking sense in that first half. How has this brilliant attack inside been so bad going forward for 45 minutes?”
Leeds United showed vulnerability again v Preston
The Whites are seen as one of the favourites to attain promotion to the Premier League this season, with the Elland Road faithful expecting their team to finish top.
Farke has had to deal with several injury issues in the current campaign, but the Peacocks’ squad depth has been on display with many key players sidelined.
Preston had just four wins in the Championship before hosting the West Yorkshire club and were clearly the better team in the first half, and Farke’s team were no different after the break, despite the late goal.
Leeds go back to the top of the Championship with the point, but Sheffield United can jump back ahead with a positive result against Plymouth.

The Whites need to be more consistent and see off teams like Preston with ease, and failure to do so is certainly worrying for the supporters.
While there’s still a long way to go in the season, the Peacocks only drawing with the Lilywhites isn’t encouraging for their promotion hopes.
In other Leeds news, Wayne Rooney will be delighted after Farke’s new admission.
