Leeds United: BBC man shares what Elland Road source tells him about Tottenham loanee Joe Rodon
Jonathan Pearce shared that one Leeds United source shared with him ahead of Tuesday’s FA Cup clash with Plymouth that Joe Rodon has been “immense” at Elland Road.
The BBC Sport commentator shared live on air (6 February, 7:53 pm) that he’s been told from within the quarters in West Yorkshire that Rodon has played very well in all 23 games he’s played for the club.
Rodon’s impressive performances at Elland Road so far this season have led to speculation about whether he would stay beyond his loan from Tottenham, and he has now revealed he is loving every minute at Leeds.
And Pearce speaking on BBC Sport said: “In fact, it goes to Joe Roden, who was described to me earlier on today from someone in Leeds as being immense for them so far.
“On loan from Tottenham, he’s started 24 games in a row and they’ve told me he’s played the last 23 of them very well.”
Crucial figure at Elland Road
Rodon has been a revelation in the Leeds United backline this season. The Welshman seems to manage to get better with each passing week and he played a huge role in the Whites’ recent impressive results.
His 25 Championship appearances so far this season have seen the defender become a crucial part of the way Leeds plays, building from the back with his composure in possession, but also not afraid to get stuck in with some defensive action.
It remains to be seen whether the Whites will be able to make his loan move permanent at the end of the campaign but given his tremendous run of performances, Spurs may be adding thousands on his price range which presents a problem for Leeds.
Phil Hay reporting for The Athletic [22 January] also confirmed as much sharing that the Premier League outfit are likely to raise their asking price after his impressive displays.

It was reported that Leeds enquired about a permanent deal in the summer and were given a valuation of £15million, and since then, it won’t be a surprise to see that rise by £5m so far.
The only way the Whites are to afford that sort of sum is to win promotion at the end of the campaign.
Hopefully, Farke will have the Welsh international fit and available for the remainder of the season, especially with Pascal Struijk still on the treatment table. Rodon will certainly play a huge part in the Whites’ automatic promotion push this season.
