Leeds United baffle after what players do in remarkable moment vs Chelsea

Leeds United are a goal down going into the break against Chelsea in the Premier League on Tuesday.

Daniel Farke’s team have travelled to Stamford Bridge on 10 February, with the Whites looking to build a winning run in the league.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is unavailable against Chelsea due to illness, with Lukas Nmecha starting up front for the West Yorkshire outfit.

While Joao Pedro scored in the 24th minute, it was a moment before the goal that was confusing from the Peacocks’ defence.

Leeds United defence in remarkable moment vs Chelsea

Pedro was left unmarked in the Leeds box after Enzo Fernandez played a free-kick into the box around the 20th-minute mark.

The likes of Sebastiaan Bornauw and Ilia Gruev decided to step up to play an apparent offside trap, but the Brazilian striker still managed to get in behind.

It was surprising to see the ball reach the 24-year-old despite him being the only player wearing blue colours.

Speaking on Premier League Production on 10 February, the world feed pundit said, “It’s remarkable, isn’t it. All of the defenders, and you can see Gruev and Bornauw, they’re the ones stepping up. The only player in Blue is Pedro, within any distance of the goal, leaving him unmarked is one of the more remarkable things to happen in the game so far.”

Farke can surprise many by beating Liam Rosenior, who is unbeaten in the Premier League so far.

Three points at Stamford Bridge will surely go a long way in ensuring the Peacocks avoid relegation at the end of the season.

Daniel Farke has obvious half-time change at Stamford Bridge

James Justin has been impressive at centre-back for Farke this season, but the defender is starting as the right-wing-back.

Bornauw is starting alongside Joe Rodon and Jaka Bijol instead, and the Belgium international has struggled, picking up a yellow card already.

Jayden Bogle is surprisingly playing in a sort of midfield role, and it would make sense to switch Justin to a more central role and put the right-back in a more natural position.

The German manager has an obvious team talk regarding what needs to change, and Ao Tanaka or Sean Longstaff should be on the pitch after the break.
