Phil Hay was left fuming as he saw Joel Piroe miss a chance in the Leeds United v QPR clash on 26 April at Loftus Road.

The Whites lost the game 4-0 against a team fighting relegation while they had hopes of finishing in the top two.

Piroe, had a decent chance in the 80th minute and had that gone in, they would've backed themselves to create at least a couple of opportunities before the end of the game.

Hay, an Athletic journalist, slammed the Leeds defence and then wrote about Piroe on Twitter: "Terrible, terrible start. Leeds don't defend a long throw well, cross hits Firpo's arm (not given) and then Andersen is given all the space he needs to step aside Gruev and smash one into the far corner. 2-0 on 23 mins.

"Leeds free-kick 30 yards out which Piroe blasts over. Senseless. 3-0 on 80 mins."

Leeds United crumble under pressure v QPR

Leeds' second-half performance against QPR was nothing short of unacceptable, as they failed to make any tactical changes or substitutions to alter the course of the game.

Despite being 2-0 down at half-time, Farke did not implement any adjustments to the team's approach or formation, which could have potentially helped Leeds claw their way back into the match.

Instead, the team continued with the same ineffective strategy, ultimately leading to a third and fourth goal conceded and a 4-0 defeat.

This lack of adaptability and proactivity from Farke is particularly disappointing given the high stakes of the match, with Leeds needing a win to keep their hopes of automatic promotion alive.

By not making any changes, Farke failed to inspire his team or give them a new tactical perspective to overcome the deficit.

This inability to react effectively to the game's situation not only resulted in a loss but also severely diminished Leeds' chances of a top-two finish.

While Piroe and the Leeds defence has been singled out, there were plenty of poor performers on the pitch for the Whites.
