'Leeds are a myth' – Sky Sports pundit blasts Whites after 1-0 defeat v Wolves

Regular Sky Sports pundit Gabby Agbonlahor did his best to stir the pot ahead of the Premier League clash between Leeds United and Aston Villa on Friday night.

Leeds travel to the midlands on Friday to play the only side left in the Premier League with a 100% record.

And former Villa star Agbonlahor – who could well be in the Sky studios on Friday night – labelled Leeds “a myth” after their 1-0 defeat to Wolves on Monday night.

It didn’t go down well with Leeds fans but perhaps that was the idea.

However, it didn’t go down well with Aston Villa fans either, with one saying through his fingers, “You couldn’t have waited until Saturday?”

Agbonlahor doubled down asking, “Why there [sic] a myth”.

Team talk? Done

Agbonlahor has just done Bielsa’s team talk for him, but anyone who has watched Leeds this season know that this is one of the less credible takes out there.

Leeds have impressed everyone after thrilling games against Liverpool and Man City, and drew high praise from Jamie Carragher on Monday Night Football.

Given the choice of listening to the views of Carragher or Agbonlahor, we’ll take the former every day.

Friday night won’t be easy, though.

At the start of this season, the game against Aston Villa would have been targeted as a good shot of getting three points away from home.

However, Villa have been this season’s surprise team and are currently second in the league with a game in hand over Everton.

They delivered the season’s biggest shock to date when they smashed Liverpool 7-2, with Ollie Watkins getting his first Premier League hat-trick.

They’ve scored 12 goals in four games and kept three clean sheets.

They’ll go top with a win or a draw, while three points will see Leeds climb into third, above Liverpool.
