Leeds United ace Willy Gnonto stuns BT Sport pundit with 'absolutely delicious' impact on return vs Bournemouth
Willy Gnonto stunned Efan Ekoku with the quality of his cross for Patrick Bamford to score the only Leeds United goal in the 4-1 defeat at Bournemouth.
With the Whites already 2-0 down thanks to a Jefferson Lerma double in the first half of the eventual loss the Italian picked up the ball on the left flank and swung an inch-perfect ball into the box.
“What a ball” could be heard from BT Sport pundit Ekoku as it landed on Bamford’s head to nod home, in what proved to be the brightest moment of a miserable afternoon for Leeds United.
Reacting live on the world feed match commentary (30 April, 2.32pm) Ekoku said: “It’s a polished header, looks straight forward but we’ve seen so many players who can miss that.
“But the ball from Gnonto. That is an absolutely delicious cross, what about that? Look at that. Not close enough to the goalkeeper, taking all the defenders out of it, and Bamford did the rest.”

There is a reason why fans have been crying out for Javi Gracia to put Gnonto back in the team, and why journalists have been repeatedly asking the Spaniard why he was leaving him out.
It proved to be yet another depressing day for Whites supporters against the Cherries but if there was one bright spot on the day it was the teenager as he proved exactly what was being missed as he was the biggest threat all game.
The result leaves Leeds in grave danger of being relegated, in which case the chances of keeping hold of him will be minimal.
With the midfield absent, the defence a mess, and Illan Meslier looking a shadow of his best in goal, there isn’t a great deal Gnonto or his attacking teammates can do to rescue things now.
With two tough games against Manchester City and Newcastle coming up it threatens to get worse before it can get better.
And if it proves to be too little too late then leaving the star Italy international out of the starting line up as results fell off a cliff will be just one of a huge series of failings from a pretty awful campaign.
