Leeds United ace Georginio Rutter must be axed by Daniel Farke v Southampton

Georginio Rutter has endured a challenging half for Leeds United v Southampton and must be taken off at half-time.

The Whites appear set for another year in the Championship as they’re down 1-0 at the break at Wembley on 26 May.

Daniel Farke must look to bring on Dan James or Mateo Joseph to add some firepower in the final third.

Georginio Rutter struggled for Leeds United v Southampton

According to Sofascore, the Frenchman completed just nine passes all half and was far from precise with them.

He could only achieve an accuracy of 69 per cent – which is underwhelming in arguably the biggest game of his career.

His accuracy with long balls is zero per cent and this cannot continue if Farke is serious about getting promoted.

Rutter has been terrible in the air as well, failing to win the aerial duel he attempted in the first 45 minutes.

He’s also struggled to beat his opponents and look to offer any threat in the final third or combine properly with Joel Piroe.

Joel Piroe produced his best performance of the season in Leeds United’s 4-0 win over Norwich.

Bringing James on could see Crysencio Summerville playing a more central role and perhaps that’s what is needed to break the deadlock and equalise before it gets too late.
