Leeds fans want Dallas as captain

With Liam Cooper out for six weeks, Leeds fans want the captain’s armband to go to one man – Stuart Dallas.

Dallas has taken full advantage of Luke Ayling being on the sidelines since surgery in the summer.

He’s delivered consistently for Leeds this season, with an average WhoScored rating of 7.08, up from 6.62 last season.

The former utility player, who only started 10 league games last season, has come into his own on the right, with seemingly endless energy typifying the Bielsa spirit.

The LUFCDATA account said his transformation this season has been “quite remarkable” and highlighted his heatmap from the game against Barnsley.

Dallas was given the armband when Cooper went off on Tuesday and in that game he made more interceptions and ball recoveries than anyone else on the pitch.

One Leeds fan was surprised that the armband was given to Dallas and said, “Should have been given to Phillips surely!”

However, he was seemingly the lone voice, with plenty of Leeds fans reacting on Twitter with delight and making it clear that they see Dallas as the stand-in captain while Cooper is out.
