Leeds fans react to Meslier display v Palace
Tyler Roberts made his long-awaited return for the Under-23s today but couldn’t get the goal that would have secured the three points.
The game against Crystal Palace ended up 0-0 but Leeds had their goalkeeper to thank for the point.
Illan Meslier signed on loan from FC Lorient this summer and came with some pretty good reviews.
He hasn’t had a chance to show off his skills for the first team yet with Kiko Casilla playing in the EFL Cup games as well as the Championship.
However, he saved a penalty in the game this afternoon as well as finding an absolutely top drawer save late on to keep the game tied.
That was his second penalty save for the Under-23s and he was absolutely vital for Carlos Corberan’s side this afternoon, a fact that was acknowledged by plenty of Leeds fans.
