'Absolutely terrifies defences' – Many Leeds fans loving cameo from rarely-seen youngster v QPR
Leeds were missing both left-backs for the game against QPR, with Ezgjan Alioski and Barry Douglas out.
Stuart Dallas seemed to line-up at left-back before moving immediately into midfield, with Jack Harrison being given the job of left wing-back.
He had a brilliant game and was replaced in the 84th minute by 19-year-old Leif Davis.
It was Davis’ first Championship appearance since the opening game of the season against Bristol City, but he had a start in the league against Aston Villa last season, and another four cameos in the 18/19 Championship.
Marcelo Bielsa is obviously a fan after being caught bellowing “Very good Davis!” repeatedly at the youngster in pre-season, something that’s now become a bit of a catchphrase with fans.
And Leeds fans were impressed with his short cameo on Saturday, as they saw him busting a gut up and down the left side, impressing in attack and defence. When your chances are limited, this is exactly what you’ve got to do to get noticed.
He certainly won’t have done his future chances any harm and with issues on the left-hand side, could see more action in the next game against Blackburn.
Some Leeds fans think he deserves a start with some even suggesting he’s the best left-back at the club at the moment.

How Leif Davis flung himself at the ball yesterday at edge of the box is exactly how I want my left back to defend 👍💙💛#lufc

Loved the cameo from Davis yesterday, he might be raw but pace absolutely terrifies defences… Very good Davis! #lufc

A brief but bright cameo from Leif Davis today was a timely reminder that there’s definitely more to come from our youth. Hopefully Shackleton back soon too. At certain points last season harnessing that unpredictable energy off the bench was an asset & could be again. #lufc

Another thing to take from today I would love to see Leif Davis become our 1st choice LB this season. Douglas and Alioski have been average really if truth be told, Davis defends properly, gets up and down the pitch so easily and has proper quality in the final third. #LUFC
