Lee Hendrie wowed by Leeds United after what they did v Rotherham at Elland Road
Lee Hendrie was wowed by Leeds United after their second goal against Rotherham at Elland Road as he described Daniel Farke’s side as “absolutely magnificent” live on Sky Sports.
The former Aston Villa midfielder was impressed by the move as a whole, with Junior Firpo, Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville all playing their part in putting Leeds two goals ahead.
Farke’s team eventually went on to win the game 3-0 thanks to another goal from Summerville, proving Hendrie right in his high praise for what was a dominant performance at Elland Road.
Commenting live on Sky Sports News [10 February, 16:17], Hendrie shared: “What a goal this is. It’s two-nil to Leeds, Summerville the scorer. They win the ball back on the left-hand side of the field in their own half, Firpo with a great challenge and they go on the attack quickly as Leeds do.
“Summerville drives it from the halfway line, little slip into Rutter, he rides a challenge and slips the ball through [Sean] Morrison’s legs back to Summerville, he takes a touch, Viktor Johansson comes out and he just toe-pokes it past him. What a finish.
“Leeds have been absolutely magnificent, and it’s well-deserved, 2-0.”
Leeds United are flying after the win v Rotherham
The race for automatic promotion from the Championship is officially on, and Leeds are absolutely flying to put themselves in the best position to take that second place which currently belongs to Southampton.
With players like Summerville and Rutter in the team, Leeds will always have a chance of outscoring their opponent, even when not at their best they have that talent to set them apart from other Championship sides as they displayed against Rotherham today.

Having both of them, combined with the outstanding run of form they have put together, has led many pundits to predict Leeds as favourites to go up, but with pressure from Southampton, it may not be as simple as it looks.
The Saints currently occupy that coveted second place, keeping Leeds at bay, and are now unbeaten in 22 Championship games, with Leeds the ones vying to match their record in a bit to keep up.
Ipswich are also still around despite a dip in form and will be hoping to lift themselves back into contention over the rest of the season to mount a challenge to the relegated Premier League sides.
