Lee Hendrie stunned by ‘Outrageous’ Leeds United moment v Swansea
Lee Hendrie was left stunned as Leeds United somehow came away from Swansea with a 4-3 victory on Sunday afternoon.
It looked as though the Whites had missed the chance to climb to the summit of the Championship after the Welsh club equalised in the 90th minute.
However, Wilfried Gnonto stepped up with a 91st-minute strike that left Hendrie astonished and took the Elland Road side to the top of the league on 24 November.
The former Aston Villa midfielder was dumbfounded by the late drama whilst on broadcast duties for Sky Sports [24 November, 16:54], saying: “What am I seeing? This is unbelievable, breathtaking stuff.
“This just tops this game off to a tee it really does, gut-wrenching for Swansea having got back on level terms but what a quick turnover from Leeds.
“Wilfried Gnonto times his run to perfection, he just makes sure he hits the target off the in-step of Vigouroux in goal.
“Unbelievably, Leeds take the lead yet again in this match, outrageous.”
Gnonto grabs the headlines as Leeds United hit summit
The Italian forward was surprisingly dropped from the starting XI for the trip to Wales on Sunday (24 November) with Graham Smyth revealing that it was not due to an injury.
The 21-year-old is usually considered untouchable in the United squad but was rested for the contest with the league about the enter the brutal festive period.
He responded to the benching with a brilliantly taken goal to secure victory when it seemed like it had been so cruelly taken away.
The Whites have a reputation for throwing results away in the latter stages of games as they did in the 2-2 draw against fellow promotion chasers Sunderland earlier in the season (4 October).

However, Gnonto ensured that this was not the case and that Leeds would sit at the top of the table after Sunderland and Sheffield United dropped points on Saturday (23 November).
It is a huge boost to Daniel Farke’s side as they look to gain momentum and forge ahead in the automatic promotion places to avoid play-off heartache like last season.
