Kris Boyd identifies potential Leeds saviour as Premier League concern keeps building
Leeds United need someone to drag them out of the slump they find themselves in.
Leeds United face Wolves on Saturday afternoon, and despite it being only the fifth game of the season, there is a growing feeling that it is a must-win.
Arguably, for both sides, given the fact that Wolves are bottom of the Premier League, and Leeds have won just once this season.
However, in order to achieve that, the Whites need to address the major elephant in the room, and Kris Boyd has highlighted the one player he thinks can contribute to it.

Calvert-Lewin backed to thrive at Leeds
Leeds have failed to impress offensively this season, and those concerns were only made to look worse by the fact that they weren’t helped out in the summer transfer market.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin was the only striker arrival at Elland Road, despite Daniel Farke consistently asking the 49ers to provide him with more quality in the final third.
Calvert-Lewin is about as experienced as they come in the Premier League, and Boyd thinks he could be what Leeds need to stay in the league ahead of their clash with Wolves.
Calvert-Lewin’s time at Everton.
- 273 total appearances
- 71 goals
- 18 assists
- 714 days missed with injury
Via Sky Sports Soccer Saturday on 20 September, he said: “Leeds will look at this as an opportunity to go and get something.
“They brought in Dominic Cavert-Lewin. If he can start scoring goals, I know we keep saying if he can stay injury-free, he’s shown in the past he can score goals.
“If they can create opportunities, then he might be the man to save them.”

Leeds need to create for Calvert-Lewin
Calvert-Lewin has been a Premier League player for the majority of his career, and that isn’t by sheer luck.
When fit, he has more than proved his worth throughout several years at Everton, and was often earmarked for a big move away.
His quality is clear, but the task Leeds face is, as Boyd says, to keep him fit and fresh on a weekly basis.
Regardless of whether or not he can find his goalscoring form, Leeds will still need to add more bodies around him when the chance emerges, with goals a big, big concern.
