Klich and Ayling to sign new long-terms deals

Both Mateusz Klich and Luke Ayling are on the verge of signing new contracts with Leeds, according to news outlet Leeds Live.

They claim that a new Klich deal should be announced first, in the coming days, with Ayling to follow.

They come after Kalvin Phillips, Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas all signed new long-term deals with the club.

That will leave just Gaetano Berardi and Pablo Hernandez as players whose current deals will expire at the end of the season.

Ayling is currently on the comeback trail and played 45 minutes in the Under-23s win against Watford and 70 minutes in the 2-1 defeat to Hull.

He should be back in contention for a first-team place against Charlton on Saturday but will likely be on the bench, with stand-in Stuart Dallas in good form.

Klich, by contrast, has played every Championship game this season, after being the only Leeds player to play every single Championship game in the 18/19 campaign. He’s a vital player under Bielsa and a new contract for the 29-year-old will be a huge boost for the side.

We might even forgive him his penalty miss on Saturday.
