Kelly Cates stunned by ‘huge scenes’ at Elland Road as Leeds United footage aired as Chelsea v Liverpool game finishes
Sky Sports host Kelly Cates was amazed by the “huge scenes” at full-time when Leeds United won 2-1 against Nottingham Forest at Elland Road on Tuesday night.
First-half goals by Jack Harrison and Luis Sinisterra cancelled out Orel Mangala’s opener for Forest to move Leeds up to 13th in the Premier League table and two points clear of the relegation zone.
It was a huge victory for the Whites and the joy was clear when the full-time whistle was blown with Sky Sports airing footage of the celebrations in the Elland Road crowd and among Javi Gracia, his players and his coaching staff.

“Huge scenes at Elland Road as Leeds came from 1-0 down to beat Nottingham Forest by 2-1,” said Cates on Sky Sports Main Event on Tuesday night (4 April, 21:58pm) as Chelsea’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool ended.
“It piles the pressure on Steve Cooper. His side are level on points with teams inside the bottom three. They are outside of the relegation places on goal difference only.
“Big win for Leeds though, 2-1 victory for them at Elland Road.”
Relief
We’ve got to admit that we were a bit worried when Forest went 1-0 up early on.
Leeds have had issues in front of goal for most of this season and with Patrick Bamford still in the sketchy form he’s been in for a while, there was no guarantee we’d get back into it.
Luckily, Harrison – the man of the moment – stepped up to latch onto a poor piece of goalkeeping by Keylor Navas.
Yes, we were maybe fortunate with that one but we at least created our own chance and capitalised upon it, which is something that has lacked for most of this season.
There was nothing fortunate about Sinisterra’s goal though. It was pure class from the Colombian, who grabbed his first goal in the Premier League since September.
Sinisterra’s performance was one that makes you think we’ll be alright because if he’s back to his best, then surely he’ll be able to create enough chances and score enough goals to tide us over.
Crystal Palace are up next, followed by games against struggling Liverpool, Mitrovic-less Fulham, managerless Leicester and woeful Bournemouth.
Palace could be the toughest game of that run.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites reportedly face competition from Italy and Spain in order to secure the services of an EFL midfielder.
