Kalvin Phillips sends heartfelt Instagram message to Leeds players & fans

Granny Val passed away this week and the Leeds United players delivered a touching tribute after the 3-0 win against Southampton last night.

A shirt was unveiled and the entire team lined up to send a message of support to Kalvin Phillips.

Phillips posted the image on his Instagram story and added the message, “Some team!” along with a heart emoji and an emotional face.

Phillips missed the game through injury and Leeds fans are desperately hoping he’ll be fit for the clash against Aston Villa on Saturday.

Says it all

This image sums up the Leeds squad at the moment – togetherness.

As one, this was the first thing the players did after winning 3-0 last night. Raphinha made sure he was one of the first in line and grabbed the shirt as the picture was taken.

The mercurial winger has only been with Leeds since the summer but has got it already.

Pablo Hernandez pointed a poignant finger to the sky.

This is Leeds. It’s not just Bielsa, it’s not just Raphinha, it’s not the goals or the attacking football.

It’s the fact that the squad plays as a squad and wins or loses as a team.

Everyone is pulling for everyone else and Bielsa is behind it all, pulling the strings, even though he would never take credit for how things are working.

It’s not just Bielsa but none of this would be possible without him.
