Kalvin Phillips issues rallying call ahead of Leeds clash v Burnley

Leeds United enter their last home game of 2020 looking for all three points against Burnley in the Premier League.

After dismantling Newcastle last time out at Elland Road, the Whites were then handed a taste of their own medicine against Manchester United.

Marcelo Bielsa has hit back at critics in the media, claiming that his side will continue their relentless style of play, something we can’t wait to see again on Sunday.

The Leeds squad appear happy with that, and why shouldn’t they? They are playing some of the best football of their career, in the best league in the world.

Kalvin Phillips has issued a rallying call on his personal Instagram account ahead of the Burnley game, demanding his side finishes the year right.

“Hope everyone’s had a good Christmas,” he said. “Now shifting the focus back to tomorrow’s game. Let’s end this year right.”

These are the games Leeds need to be winning.

With Burnley and West Brom in the space of two days, six points would put a massive gap between the Whites and the relegation zone.

Some people seem to be getting carried away, not realising that the main goal is survival, and maybe two wins in as many days will bring the plaudits back to Elland Road.

It won’t be easy, though.

Burnley are starting to hit form, and a win in West Yorkshire would take them a single point behind the Whites with a game-in-hand.

Phillips may have been dragged off at Old Trafford, but he appears ready to make amends for that this afternoon – bring it on.
