Kalvin Phillips benched – Confirmed Leeds United starting XI v Watford

Leeds United have confirmed their starting XI for the Premier League showdown with Watford on Saturday afternoon.

Jesse Marsch has brought back Robin Koch into the side after he made his injury return against Southampton last time out off the bench.

Confirmed on Twitter prior to kick-off, the Whites have dropped Adam Forshaw who isn’t in the squad completely.

This is huge news.

Having Liam Cooper back from the start last week was a massive boost, with the skipper missed in recent months.

His leadership was critical, and now we will be helped with Koch ahead of him, but Phillips on the bench has to be questioned.

We should hopefully see a more defensively sound side now, with Watford known for their counter-attacking ways at Vicarage Road.

Three points.

Leeds will know that a win here is huge.

Getting past the Hornets and making it four unbeaten could secure safety for yet another season in the Premier League.

If Norwich were to beat Burnley tomorrow after we picked up a win, the gap would stay at just below 10 points.

Marsch will be desperate to keep this run going, and the sooner we are away from this relegation zone, the better.

This is a run that will have been targeted by the Whites, and it has gone well so far, but it would mean nothing with defeat here.

Phillips back in the heart of the side is huge, let’s hope that is backed up with a big win here in the capital.
