Jurgen Klopp hits back at Leeds warm-up shirts ahead of Liverpool clash

Jurgen Klopp has savaged Leeds United over their decisions to create warm-up shirts before the Liverpool clash on Monday evening.

The Whites created shirts that had “Earn It” in regards to Champions League status after the European Super League was formed over the weekend.

Leeds also created another bunch for the Liverpool squad and left them in the away dressing room for the Reds, who refused to wear them.

Klopp was angered by the gesture when speaking before kick-off, claiming that nobody has to remind them that they have to earn it, as shared on Twitter.

“I heard already there are warm-up shirts or whatever,” he said.

“We will not wear them because we cannot. But if somebody thinks he has to remind us you have to earn the Champions League, that’s a real joke. It makes me angry.”

Calm down.

Everyone knows that it isn’t the players and staff that have made this decision, and it is the board members of each top-six club this season.

They are all after the money, and Leeds handing shirts to Liverpool wasn’t a dig at Klopp or their players, but their owners moving forward.

It is maybe overstepping the line, and there was never really a chance of them wearing them, but it was a chance to come together and fight this creation.

Klopp definitely overreacted, and the German will look back and most likely regret taking a swipe at the Whites, who also possibly didn’t think about it before laying them out in their dressing room without prior contact.
