Joel Piroe decision made as Farke makes change – Leeds United confirmed XI v Plymouth

Daniel Farke has made one change to his Leeds United starting XI for the clash against Plymouth on Saturday.

The Whites confirmed the side to face Plymouth at Elland Road via their official X account [2 November], with Junior Firpo returning to the side and Sam Byram moving across to right-back to deputise for the suspended Jayden Bogle.

Joel Piroe has been given the nod again over Mateo Joseph to lead the line despite the side failing to find the back of the net last time out in the 0-0 draw against Bristol City.

Daniel Farke leaves out Mateo Joseph for Leeds United again

Joseph has been left out in the cold at Elland Road in recent weeks as Farke continues to place his trust in Piroe as the focal point for his attack.

The 21-year-old has been resigned to make an impact from the substitutes bench in his last few outings and has become the established backup for his Dutch teammate, particularly after his “poor” open goal miss in the 2-1 win against Watford.

However, Piroe has hardly shown the form worthy of such trust from the manager, with Farke ignoring calls to remove the forward from the starting lineup at Elland Road.

Plymouth have been shipping in goals left, right and centre in the Championship this term. Joseph will undoubtedly feel begrudged of an opportunity to prove his worth against the 22nd-placed side.

The Whites have serious ground to make up to bridge the five-point gap to Sunderland at the top of the league table and a resounding victory at Elland Road will go a long way in easing the nerves of the Leeds faithful.
