Joe Rodon blasted after what happened in Leeds United win v Plymouth

Clinton Morrison slammed Joe Rodon as Leeds United beat Plymouth Argyle 2-1 in the Championship on Saturday.

Daniel Farke’s team travelled to Home Park on 3 May as they looked to win the title and put a cherry on top of their season.

The Whites seemed to be in for heartbreak, though, with Mustapha Bundu forcing an own goal from Sam Byram in the 18th minute, and Burnley were on course to take top spot.

Willy Gnonto got the West Yorkshire outfit level just after the break, and Manor Solomon scored in stoppage time to crown them champions in dramatic fashion.

Bundu goes past Rodon easily at Home Park

Bundu went past Rodon like he wasn’t even there as Plymouth took the lead at Home Park, Morrison says.

The Sky Sports pundit wasn’t pleased with the Wales international’s defending as the Sierra Leone international whipped the ball into a dangerous area, leading to Byram’s own goal.

Morrison credited Bundu for his efforts, but the Whites’ centre-back could arguably have done more to stop the attacker.

Speaking on Sky Sports News (3 May, 12:52), the ex-Crystal Palace ace said: “[Bundu] goes past Rodon like he’s not there. He tried to bend it into the far corner. I think it hits Byram. And it’s going to go down as an own goal. But brilliant play from Bundu.”

Farke wins Championship title at Leeds United

Plymouth fans were chanting about Farke being sacked in the morning when they were leading by a goal, but in the end, the Whites pulled off a massive victory.

49ers Enterprises are considering replacing the former Norwich City boss, but that would undoubtedly be a big mistake.

The German manager has shown that he’s the right man for the West Yorkshire outfit after facing many challenges with fitness issues in the squad this season.

Leeds should focus on bolstering their squad this summer as they hope to avoid immediate relegation from the Premier League.

In recent years, it hasn’t been easy for promoted teams to stay in the English top flight, but the Whites must buck that trend.

The American owners will need to work hard in the upcoming transfer window to build a team capable of surviving the rigours of the Premier League.

The West Yorkshire outfit evidently need to bolster every department of their squad, including the goalkeeping department.

With Illan Meslier not trusted, and an upgrade on Karl Darlow arguably needed, the Peacocks have a significant summer coming up.
