Regular Sky Sports pundit Jermaine Beckford thinks that Leeds United will beat Arsenal in the Sunday afternoon game at the Emirates.
Talking on the official Leeds United podcast, Beckford said Arsenal wouldn’t be able to cope with the work rate and Patrick Bamford.
“They lost their last game against Villa last time out… Swings and roundabouts, anything can happen, but my money is firmly on Leeds winning,” Beckford said.
“Arsenal are in a bad place at the moment, nothing seems to be working out for them.
“They’ve got a few players coming in and going out, and there’s no stability within their ranks.
“I don’t think they’ll be able to deal with the overload, the work rate, the finishing prowess of our one and only number nine. I’m excited for it.”
The bookies have got the game down very differently, with Arsenal odds-on to win and Leeds as big as 3/1 to come back with the points.
Before the season started, we wouldn’t have been surprised to see these odds.
However, it really seems to be skewed by the fact that Arsenal are historically a top-six side and Leeds are newly-promoted.
It doesn’t seem to be taking into account current form, where you’d say there’s really nothing between the two sides.
Leeds are one point ahead of Arsenal in the league and the Gunners have lost their last two games.
The last game between the two sides finished 0-0 at Elland Road but it’s a game that Leeds should have won.
Leeds won the xG battle 1.96 to 0.71 but just couldn’t find a way to score. We’re pretty sure they will on Sunday.
