Jeff Stelling shares Leeds United and Everton relegation prediction ahead of Premier League action
Jeff Stelling predicts Everton will be safe from relegation from the Premier League if they avoid defeat and Leeds United lose on Sunday (15 May).
Jesse Marsch’s Leeds welcome Brighton to Elland Road in the 2pm kick-off while Everton face Brentford at Goodison Park later in the day.
As it stands, the Whites are 18th on 34 points with a terrible goal difference and just two games left to play while Everton are 16th on 36 points with a game in hand.

As shown on the Sky Sports Premier League Twitter account on Sunday (15 May), Michael Dawson said: “If you look at the table, they’re still not there but they’ve put themselves in a good position from where they were when they lost to Burnley all those weeks ago.”
Stelling then said: “I mean, effectively, if they get a point today and Leeds lose, then that’s it.”
Huge day
Leeds could be effectively relegated by the end of the day if results go against them and they lose at home against Brighton.
United’s home form hasn’t been great this season and while Brighton don’t sound as though they’ll much much of a threat on paper, they are in good form.
Graham Potter’s side will be aiming to finish eight in the Premier League standings, which is a huge achievement for them so you can guarantee they’ll be no pushovers at Elland Road.
Everton, on the other hand, play Brentford later in the day.
Everton’s form has been impressive and it does feel as though the players are feeding on the positive energy that’s been coming out of the fanbase.
As for Leeds fans, we have supporters who are biting each other’s arms off on social media, throwing items at players on the pitch and holding up play when we’re losing matches by hiding the ball.
While Elland Road is a fantastic place to be when we’re winning, it’s horrible when we’re not and we haven’t seen a togetherness that we’ve seen from Evertonians.
It could have helped – who knows?
