Jeff Stelling predicts Leeds United vs Chelsea result for Sky Sports

Jeff Stelling has predicted a second West London defeat in quick succession for Leeds United when they travel to Chelsea in the Premier League.

The Whites were unfortunate to come away from their FA Cup tie at Fulham with nothing on Tuesday night (28 February) after putting in a good performance and getting knocked out 2-0.

But, despite the fact that Graham Potter is under enormous pressure at Stamford Bridge with his side in miserable form, Stelling has gone for the same scoreline again when Javi Gracia takes his men there on Saturday (4 March).

In his Super6 predictions for Sky Sports the Soccer Saturday host expects it to be another 2-0 reverse for Leeds United, having finally won in the top flight again in Gracia’s first game in charge against Southampton last week (25 February).

Door open

If ever there was a chance to head to Chelsea and win it has to be now, with the expensively-assembled squad struggling to score let alone win.

With key defender Thiago Silva also out after injury at Tottenham there will be an added uncertainty at the back, and with Georginio Rutter looking lively at Craven Cottage it could be an opportunity for him.

When two sides who are having difficulty finding the net meet there is always the spectre of a frustrating goalless draw on the cards, but Leeds United need points and if Southampton can take three against this side then so can the Whites.

Leeds United

Gracia’s arrival was never likely to send the club on an endless winning run, and the 1-0 scoreline against the league’s bottom side won’t have blown anyone away.

But having got over the hump of finally breaking the run, and with an old rival next up who are in their worst disarray for years, the new boss can’t afford not to go for the victory.

Back-to-back wins in the Premier League would prove that the belated managerial appointment has got the potential to make all the difference and inject significant confidence ahead of the crucial final stretch of the campaign.

In other Leeds United news, one Whites star was guilty of the “biggest criticism you will ever find” for his position this week.
