Jamie Carragher blasted Leeds United winger Jack Harrison on a couple of occasions in the first half against Manchester United at Elland Road on Sunday.
It was a hard first half to watch as neither team did very little of note. However, there were moments at each end of the pitch where Harrison, 24, could have done better.
Around the half-hour mark, Leeds won the first corner of the game after a good bit of attacking play but Harrison completely wasted it when his cross was easily dealt with before it reached anywhere dangerous in the box.
“So poor, set-piece delivery in this game. Awful,” Carragher said on Sky Sports Premier League in the first half on Sunday.
Carragher was also unimpressed by Harrison’s defensive play earlier in the game when Harrison let a Man United attacker get into the box.
The ex-Liverpool man said : “That’s what happens with the man-marking system, you see how free he is there. It was Jack Harrison who lost him.”
Need to do better
Patrick Bamford has been no more than a passenger in this game because Leeds’ attacking players are not doing enough.
The defence is doing it’s bit by keeping the Manchester United attackers quiet and Kalvin Phillips is doing a great job in the middle too.
But as for Harrison, Helder Costa, Stuart Dallas, Tyler Roberts and Bamford, not enough is happening and we really don’t seem capable of scoring.
Harrison’s corner was a joke. We actually laughed when it failed to beat the first man as the left-footed Manchester City loanee appeared to scuff his cross.
It barely left the ground.
Harrison has to do better than this but at least he’s not the only one.
Let’s hope Marcelo Bielsa can get some fire in their bellies at half time because this doesn’t feel like a Leeds versus Man United game.
In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has made a worrying claim about Leeds shareholders 49ers and their stance on the ESL and the Glazers family.
