Jake Humphrey makes Norwich City support claim after loss to Leeds United at Elland Road

Jake Humphrey has insisted he wouldn’t support any other team after his beloved Norwich City lost 4-0 to Leeds United in the Championship play-off semi-finals on Thursday night (16 May).

The Whites are off to Wembley after goals from Ilia Gruev, Joel Piroe, Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville secured the win.

Daniel Farke was able to easily get the better of his former side despite a goalless first leg at Carrow Road on Sunday (12 May).

Now celebrity fan Humphrey has taken to X (16 May), to pledge his allegiance to the club he follows above any other across the world.

He said: “I’d still rather support Norwich than any other team on the planet. Night.”

Leeds United too good for Norwich City

The first leg of the semi-final was very cagey and the 0-0 scoreline was reflective of a game where neither side wanted to lose.

If that is how that game went, the second leg couldn’t have been more different as the Whites caught the Canaries cold early on.

Gruev for the better of Angus Gunn from a long-range free-kick which set the tone at Elland Road for a great night under the lights.

After weeks of not being clinical, it finally clicked again for Farke, whose side proved to be far too good for David Wagner’s men to deal with.

The quality of Leeds’ front line with Summerville, Piroe and Rutter, backed up by Wilfried Gnonto, shone through.

Now fans are preparing for a first trip to Wembley since 2008 knowing that a Premier League return is just one win away.

If Farke can get his players playing like they did against Norwich, he will have no worries in the capital.
