Jack Harrison infuriates Jermaine Jenas live on BT Sport for what he did for Leeds United in defeat at Fulham

Jermaine Jenas slammed Jack Harrison as “so poor” for Leeds United in the first half of the 2-1 defeat at Fulham in the early kick off.

Midway through an uneventful first 45-minutes at Craven Cottage, with the Whites looking to bounce back from a damaging pair of defeats, Javi Gracia’s men were trying to play out from the back when it came to the English winger on the left flank.

Instead of looking for a teammate he floated an aimless ball over the top that was easily picked up by home defender Tim Ream, and Jenas was furious at the wasteful nature of what the 26-year-old had done, suggesting the visitors are just not good enough to play that way.

Speaking live on the BT Sport match commentary in the 32nd minute on Saturday (22 April, 1.02pm) Jenas said: “That is poor isn’t it? That is just so poor. If you’re gonna do that you might as well just knock it up to Rodrigo and pick the second balls up.

“If you’re not good enough to play through the lines, why are you doing it?”

Low confidence

Harrison had recently exploded from a rough few months through the middle of the season, with a flurry of goals and assists under Gracia and a new contract at Elland Road to boot.

But he will have been affected just as much as his teammates by the harrowing experience of back-to-back home defeats by huge margins.

Aside from Crysencio Summerville Leeds United looked tentative going forward throughout, with it feeling like virtually all the team’s concentration going into keeping the backdoor closed.

That didn’t last as Rasmus Kristensen twice left acres of space down the Leeds United right, and both times the crosses that came in were palmed into danger by Illan Meslier, who is clearly low on confidence, to be put away.

A late own-goal pulled one back, but Harrison never got anything going, and it was too little too late from a Whites point of view.

It wasn’t a thrashing in the manner of the previous two, but the effects are just as damaging, and the slip in performance levels as soon as they went behind was again a major concern.

In other Leeds United news, Andrea Radrizzani could by the Champions League winners after banking a huge profit on the club.
