‘It ain’t fair’ – Ian Poveda sends message to Leeds fans after crazy 3-2 win v Millwall

New Leeds United signing Ian Poveda had to settle for watching the game from the bench at Elland Road last night. But what a game.

Leeds won 3-2 after a brilliant second half that saw them reverse a 2-0 deficit against Millwall.

Poveda might well have come on had Leeds not pulled out one of the best 45 minutes of the season, but he was loving what he saw from the bench.

He hailed Patrick Bamford after the striker scored two goals and he paid special tribute to the Leeds fans, saying they were “unbelievable” and that “it ain’t fair on the others”.

If he wasn’t sure what he was letting himself in for at his new club, he’ll have a pretty good idea now.

His emoji-ridden tweet read, “What a night. Great work from the lads never giving up! Man like Postman Pat. +3 points. Fans, you lot are unbelievable, it ain’t fair for the others.”

Poveda will likely be on the bench again on Saturday against Wigan – we can’t see Bielsa making any changes after the 3-2 win.

He’ll be joined by Jean-Kevin Augustin, Leeds’ new striker, who will also have to wait for his first start after Bamford’s brace.

There won’t be any complaints from the Leeds fans though. As long as Leeds are scoring and winning, they won’t care who’s in the starting XI.
