Isaac Schmidt back for Leeds United clash v QPR, Rothwell decision made

Daniel Farke is boosted by the return of Isaac Schmidt to the Leeds United squad ahead of their game against QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday.

Leeds will look to build on their 2-0 win against Millwall at Elland Road on Wednesday (12 March) when they lock horns with 14th-placed QPR away from home on 15 March.

Marti Cifuentes’ side are there for the taking as they go into the Championship fixture on the back of a four-game losing streak in the league.

However, Farke will be wary of the Elland Road outfit’s poor record at Loftus Road, with the Whites winning only one and losing four of their last five trips there.

Joe Rothwell and Manor Solomon to start

Leeds United have not won at Loftus Road since their 3-1 Championship victory over QPR in December 2017, but Farke will be determined to set that record straight on Saturday.

The German tactician can call upon Schmidt if he needs as the full-back has returned to the Whites’ travelling squad after missing the Millwall encounter due to illness, Joe Donnohue has confirmed.

The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist reported via his personal X handle on Saturday (15 March) that James Debayo has also been spotted with the rest of the players.

In another post, the report revealed that Joe Rothwell and Manor Solomon have been assigned to do the media duties for Leeds United, suggesting they are both in the starting line-ups to face QPR.

Leeds United to stay top of Championship

History suggests that Leeds United will struggle to claim all three points at Loftus Road, but they will be determined to do exactly that against a team on a poor run of form.

In the worst-case scenario, Farke will be pleased to take a point back to Yorkshire as that would be enough for his team to stay at the top of the Championship table regardless of results elsewhere.

It thus remains to be seen who will emerge victorious in this tasty encounter.
