Ian Wright: Liverpool will not have liked postponement of Leeds United fixture
Ian Wright believes Leeds United will be the happier of the two teams as their fixture against Liverpool has now been postponed.
The Whites were set to take on the title contenders on Boxing Day, but due to Covid cases in their camp, the Premier League opted to call off the fixture.
Due to Leeds’ current form and injuries, Wright believes that they’ll be happy to see this one getting rescheduled.

He said on the Kelly & Wrighty show, “You want to play Leeds in this current climate. I think Leeds will be more relieved. They’ve not been good enough. Liverpool would be wanting to play them.”
Sad but true
Wright has been a supporter of Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds side in the past, but here he is calling it as he’s seeing it.
The Whites have been nowhere close to good enough and are suffering from growing injuries and a severe lack of form.
The fixture list has not been kind with Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool in consecutive games, but they have got some respite now that the game against the Reds has been called off.

If everything is fine, their next game will now be against Aston Villa on December 28.
Should that game not go ahead, then the next time Leeds step onto the field of play will be in the new year to take on Burnley on January 2.
Hopefully, they use this postponement as a catalyst to pick up two or three wins on the spin as it will help them breathe easy and not worry about the threat of relegation.
