Ian Wright and Alan Shearer issue worrying Leeds United admissions after what they saw at Elland Road

Ian Wright and Alan Shearer both do not see Leeds United avoiding the drop this season in the Premier League.

Having seen the game against Brighton at Elland Road, despite Leeds clawing their way back into it, the duo do not see them having what it takes to get a result against Brentford.

With the Bees’ last home game, they foresee something special at the Brentford Community Stadium and fear that the end of the road is near for the Whites.

Speaking on Premier League Productions’ post-match show after Newcastle v Arsenal, Wright said, “I think Leeds are going down. I don’t see them beating Brentford. That atmosphere is going to be too much. I don’t see them losing that game.”

Seconding his view, Shearer responded, “I’m really worried for Leeds. Don’t see them getting anything at Brentford. It’s going to be very tough for them.”

Against all odds?

This one becomes a must-win game for Leeds only if Burnley manage to pick up a point from their next two games.

Given how their season has gone so far, that’s far from assured and the Whites can be optimistic going into the final weekend.

While the atmosphere at Brentford will be electric, they, by and large, have nothing to play for this season.

Many of their players could be on the beach and just playing for the fans without giving it their all.

On paper, they do not have as good a team as Leeds and Jesse Marsch needs to instil this belief in his players.

Leeds may remain favourites to get relegated, but the team has overcome far greater obstacles than this one and hopefully they can get this over the line.

In Leeds United news, an under-the-radar court case involving the transfer of a Leeds player has reached its conclusion with the final payout revealed.
