We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson has said that it’s been such an odd season it’s hard to predict what will happen in the game between Leeds and Aston Villa on Friday night.
However, we pinned him down and he thinks that Leeds will concede but go on to come home with all three points in a 2-1 win.
He thinks that Ollie Watkins will be a handful but that Leeds will go out at 100mph to win the game.
Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News Robinson said, “It’s such an unpredictable season. Playing games without fans is having a huge effect on teams. Teams that should be winning games aren’t winning them.
“Look at what happened to Liverpool, and Aston Villa.
“It’s becoming the hardest season to put an acca together. I put an acca together on Saturday and it was bust on the first game. That’s the kind of season it’s been.
“We know how Leeds will approach the game, they’ll go 100 miles per hour and try to win it.
“But they’re up against a Villa team who are rich in form and are very good. I think it’s going to be a really good game.
“I think that Leeds, defensively, will find it hard to cope. They’ve got [Ollie] Watkins and he’s going to be a handful. I think Leeds will concede but I think they’ll score more. I’m going 2-1 for Leeds.”
Leeds have issues going into the game with Kalvin Phillips and Diego Llorente definitely out, and Liam Cooper set for a late fitness test.
Pascal Struijk is going to play in the holding midfield position and Gjanni Alioksi will likely get a start if Cooper is ruled out.
