‘I don’t like this… Big concerns’ – Some Leeds fans react as footage of injured player posted
Consecutive 1-0 wins for Leeds United and it’s given Marcelo Bielsa’s men a five-point buffer back to third.
The only shadow from Saturday was the injury to Kalvin Phillips, who went down on the half-hour mark and went off after struggling for the next five minutes.
He would be a huge miss for Leeds – however, there is hope.
Phillips re-appeared after the final whistle and led the Leeds fans in a roar of victory. He said afterwards that it was a dead leg and the hope is that he’ll be able to play in the next game against Middlesbrough.
The only trouble is, that’s as soon as Wednesday and there was a mixed reaction from the fans to his post-match walkabout.
Some fans thought he looked okay but others were less sure.
One said he was “Worried about that limp” while another said, “Not walking freely”.
Another summed up the fears of all Leeds fans when he said, “Tbh… I don’t like this. Kalvin looks like he’s putting on a brave face.. big concerns if he’s not fit.”
They’re the glass half empty crew.
Others were more optimistic with one declaring, “Thank God he doesn’t look injured.”
Taking a balanced view, Phillips wouldn’t have been out there if it was serious and it looks like an impact injury. The big question is, will it keep him out of Wednesday’s game?
We should find out more when Marcelo Bielsa conducts his pre-match press conference but he said after the game he didn’t know how severe the injury was.
Meanwhile, here are the reactions to an admittedly spine-tingling rendition from the Leeds fans, conducted by Phillips…
