Vinnie Jones predicts the winner in Arsenal v Leeds clash

Vinnie Jones has predicted a Leeds United win when they travel to the Emirates to play Arsenal on Sunday.

Leeds leapt ahead of the north London side with a win against Palace on Monday and Jones believes that it’s the perfect time to play Mikel Arteta’s side.

Writing in his EasyOdds column, Jones said, “I loved Leeds’s win against Palace on Monday night. That was a lovely three points for the lads.

“It was a proper win against a dogged and well-organised team in Palace. There was more control about this performance from Leeds – they still played great football but didn’t leave themselves open to the counter. It’s how they must play against the better teams now.

“Bielsa’s boys take on Arsenal this week and I reckon they’ve got the Gunners at the right time. The north Londoners are struggling at the moment after racking up some good wins – and that’s been the way for so many teams this season. Except City.”

Top-half team

Leeds are in the top half of the table after the 2-0 win against Palace. Drink that in.

That win was especially pleasing for us as Leeds thoroughly dominated an established Premier League side.

The confidence is growing in the side and a top-half finish is now definitely within their grasp.

The Palace win could have been a lot bigger than the 2-0 scoreline, too, and showed a marked difference to the 4-1 reverse defeat.

The Palace fans we’ve spoken to since have been left thoroughly dejected by the game.

We’re one point above Arsenal now, which shows how far Leeds have come. And a win in North London on Sunday would take us four points clear of Arteta’s side.

It is a good time to play them but the game could come down to the fitness of two key players, one for either side.

Arsenal are sweating on the fitness of Thomas Partey while Leeds are hoping that Kalvin Phillips will be available.

If both are fit we think Vinnie has it right. If Partey is in and Phillips out, it could be a really tough game.
