Hinchcliffe: Leeds will be promoted this season

Sky Sports pundit Andy Hinchcliffe thinks that Marcelo Bielsa will win promotion to the Premier League with Leeds this season and that he will be “wonderful” in the English top-flight.

Hinchcliffe was talking on The Debate on Sky Sports on Tuesday night (midnight), when he was asked about Leeds’ chances of promotion.

“I’d be surprised if Leeds finish outside of the top two this season,” Hinchcliffe replied.

Hinchcliffe went on to say that taking on a Championship side like Leeds has suited the maverick manager after short and disastrous stints at Lazio and Lille.

Hinchcliffe was asked how Bielsa would cope in the Premier League and he replied saying, “He could be fantastic, at the right club with the right bunch of players, which is what’s happening at Leeds.

“That’s why the Championship was good for him. The players at Leeds love him. He would be wonderful. If he gets Leeds to the Premier League and hopefully stays on at the club, watch out.”

We think there are plenty of neutrals that would love to see Bielsa in the Premier League too, locking horns with managers who have admitted to being inspired by him, like Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino.

Could Bielsa get even more out of the current crop of Leeds players? That’s the multi-million-pound question, but Bielsa has proved himself every step of the way at Leeds so far.
