‘He has been through such a transformation’ – Leeds Super Fans pick best player v Arsenal

This is part of a regular series from our panel of Leeds United Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Elland Road and Thorp Arch.

Every Leeds fan hoped that Marcelo Bielsa’s men would be able to hold their own against Arsenal on Monday.

None of us expected Leeds to be quite so dominant in the first half.

We were unlucky to go in at half-time without scoring and could easily have had two or three if the finishing had been better.

The attack momentum graph from SofaScore shows just how good Leeds were in the first half of the game, but also how the tide was turned in the second half.

Arsenal scored a scruffy goal and that was enough to put Leeds out of the FA Cup, although concentrating on the Championship while our promotion rivals battle on in the competition is certainly not the worst result.

Leeds fans left the Emirates with their heads held high and in fine voice – and with good reason. It was the day Bielsa’s Leeds went mainstream, with praise coming from the likes of Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Ian Wright.

But who was the man-of-the-match for Leeds?

That’s the question we asked our panel of Leeds Super Fans – this is what they had to say…

Martin Charlesworth (@mcharlesworth10)

Jonathan Fox (@foxy619)

Adam Copley (@Adam_coppers98)

Jordy Phillips (@JordyP1993)

Daryl (@DarylRS29)

Adam Ross (@rossi_on)

Adam Elliott (@adam_elliott118)

Waz (@Moorey73)

There were a lot of candidates for man-of-the-match and Illan Meslier on his debut, Kalvin Phillips, Matesuz Klich and Barry Douglas all got votes.

However, leading the pack was Jack Harrison who was a real livewire on the right-hand side for Leeds.

Does he stay there for the game against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday?
