‘Hall of shame’, ‘Horrific’ – Many Leeds fans slam player after ‘Absolute mare’ v Leicester
Leeds United fell to a 4-1 defeat in their Premier League clash with Leicester City on Monday evening.
It couldn’t have started much worst for the Whites, who fell behind in two minutes after Patrick Bamford had missed a sitter.
Marcelo Bielsa’s makeshift midfield of Mateusz Klich, Jamie Shackleton and Pablo Hernandez were overwhelmed throughout when off the ball.
Klich was pushed into the deeper role, and it didn’t suit him at all.
The Polish international was far too absent in his defensive duties, and that often saw the Whites outnumbered in defence against the likes of Jamie Vardy.
It led to strange decisions being made, such as his backwards header in the first-half that nearly sent Vardy clean through on goal.
Klich certainly improved in the second half, but that would have been helped by the Whites dominating Foxes in every other department.
However, his performance was summed up by a clumsy challenge during injury time to hand Leicester a penalty – stupid.
Many Leeds fans have reacted to Klich’s display through the game, with the majority claiming that he is being played too far out of position.
That is still no excuse for his sloppy play when in possession, something that he can’t afford to do in the Premier League, or we will continue to get punished.
