Gary Rowett wowed by ‘brilliant’ Struijk footage in Leeds United v Luton

Sky Sports pundit Gary Rowett was wowed by Pascal Struijk as Leeds United beat Luton Town 3-0 at Elland Road on Wednesday night.

The Dutchman produced a stunning clearance off the line after Victor Moses had lobbed the ball over onrushing goalkeeper Illan Meslier in the 26th minute [Sky Sports].

The action stopped the visitors from equalising after Sam Byram had given them the lead 10 minutes into the contest.

Former Millwall manager Rowett was very impressed by Struijk as he bailed out his goalkeeper in the early stages of the clash on Wednesday (27 November), saying: “Luton very nearly scored, their first break, it was down the left with Moses. Moses ends up with a little one-two, gets in-behind, dinks it over Meslier.

I think it is Struijk. Gets on the goal-line, hooks it clear, it is a brilliant piece of defensive action.”

Pascal Struijk is a colossus for Leeds United

The Dutchman has been a huge factor in the Whites rise up the Championship table this week.

The Elland Road club rise to the summit on Sunday with a 4-3 win over Swansea and are set to keep their place on top of the place as it stands.

The Dutch defender has been an ever-present for the Whites so far this season, impressing alongside Joe Rodon at the heart of Daniel Farke’s defence.
