Gabriel Gudmundsson in tears after Leeds United ‘mess’ as footage emerges from Fulham loss
Leeds United left Craven Cottage empty-handed on Saturday afternoon.
Concerns that have been lingering remained present after Saturday’s clash, with Leeds United suffering a 1-0 defeat against Fulham.
Once again, Daniel Farke’s side matched the opposition in every area aside from the final third, with Lukas Nmecha’s penalty against Everton still the only time they have found the net.
However, the nature of the defeat was cruel at Craven Cottage, with Gabriel Gudmundsson the unfortunate party on this occasion.

Leeds United own goal gifts Fulham three points
In the Premier League, one moment can determine a result, and Leeds were on the wrong end of one in the dying seconds of the clash on Saturday.
Just as it looked as though the Whites were going to secure a valuable point, Gudmundsson fired a bullet header into the back of his own net from a Fulham corner.
Leeds’ stats vs Fulham
- 0.79 xG
- 1 big chance created
- 46% possession
- 3 corners
Needless to say, the Swedish international was devastated, with Shay Given reacting to the incident on Match of the Day on 13 September.
He said: “It’s a bit of a mess, to be honest. For Gudmundsson, I think it’s just gone over Tom Cairney’s head.
“It’s unlucky, it could have really gone anywhere. He doesn’t know much about it, if I’m being honest.
“You feel for him in tears in the dressing room after, but it just shows how much it hurts.”

49ers once again left with questions to answer
Four points from four games is not a bad return for Leeds, but the nature of the results since their opening day victory against Everton is the most cocnerning part.
The Whites have looked toothless in front of goal, and it begs the question as to where the goals are going to come from this season.
Farke was given no help by the 49ers in the summer window to rectify it, leaving the German wth the task of working miracles to get his forward line firing again.
This needs to change as a matter of urgency, or Leeds are going to start falling behind.
