Gabriel Gudmundsson absolutely horrendous as only one player comes out with credit – Leeds ratings vs Brighton

Leeds were defeated 3-0 by Brighton on Saturday in a truly dismal afternoon.

Daniel Farke was hoping to continue the momentum after Leeds’ 2-1 win over West Ham, but that was not the case at the AMEX Stadium.

Leeds had no fresh injury concerns for the 1 November clash, but that did not matter as they were brushed aside with ease on the south coast.

Danny Welbeck scored the opener, and two second-half Diego Gomez goals condemned the Elland Road side to a fifth defeat of the season.

Noah Okafor shines despite Leeds loss

Noah Okafor has been a live wire for Leeds since signing from AC Milan this summer.

This was the case at the AMEX, as he was the only one to emerge with any credit for the Whites.

Okafor completed the most dribbles in the contest, with five, for a 62 per cent success rate, per Sofascore and was constantly trying to threaten the Seagulls.

He has three touches in the opposition box, and made three passes into the final third, as he tried to create something out of nothing.

He also contributed defensively, as he completed three tackles and won nine of the 15 ground duels that he attempted.

The Swiss international was replaced by Jack Harrison in the 77th minute, in a bizarre substitution from Farke.

Gabriel Gudmundsson has a nightmare in Leeds defeat

Gabriel Gudmundsson had a rare off day for Leeds, as he was caught out for Welbeck’s opener, and he may have still been feeling from the back issue he suffered against the Hammers.

The Swedish star has made a brilliant start to life in English football, but he did not apply enough pressure to Yankuba Minteh in the build-up to the strike.

Instead, he allowed Minteh to drive on and find Mats Wieffer and squared for the 34-year-old to score past Lucas Perri.

Farke has James Justin as a backup option for the left-back position, and he could decide to call upon him in the next game, if Gudmundsson does not buck up his ideas, as he was absolutely horrendous.

It was a big mistake from a man who is usually one of the Whites’ best players, and it could prove costly at the end of the campaign.

It set the tone for the rest of the contest, giving the Peacocks a mountain to climb, and ultimately, the gamble to put him back in, did not work out.
