‘Fraud’, ‘Pay up his contract’ – Many Leeds fans slaughter ‘Liability’ for display v Crawley

Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to absolutely slaughter goalkeeper Kiko Casilla for his performance in the shock 3-0 loss to Crawley on Sunday.

Marcelo Bielsa handed Casilla, 34, his second first-team appearance of the season at Broadfield Stadium but the Argentine’s faith in the shot-stopper was far from repaid.

Although the ex-Real Madrid goalkeeper made a good save in the first half, he could have done a lot better to stop Nick Tsaroulla putting the League Two club ahead in the 50th minute.

While there were bigger issues in front of him among the defenders for the first goal, the blame fell right at his feet for Crawley’s second goal, which came through Ashley Nadesan three minutes later.

Yes, the outfielders could have done better but being beaten like that at your near post is simply inexcusable for a Premier League goalkeeper.

This is what we’ve come to expect from Casilla, unfortunately, and Leeds should have gotten rid of the goalkeeper long ago after his woeful form in the Championship and also his ban for racism last season.

Many fans have now taken to Twitter to call on the club to get rid of Casilla, with one urging the Whites to “pay up his contract“.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

If anyone had doubts about Illan Meslier being Leeds’ best goalkeeper, watch this game. Meslier is miles ahead of Casilla and we’d much rather see Elia Caprile given chances to shine in the first team than Casilla from now on.

Casilla should have had his contract terminated last year.
