Four Leeds United players not spotted as squad arrive for Watford clash
Four Leeds United players haven’t been spotted as the squad arrived for the game against Watford on Saturday (23 September), according to Graham Smyth.
The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist tweeted on Saturday that Patrick Bamford, Junior Firpo, Stuart Dallas and Willy Gnonto were not seen arriving at Elland Road.
He added that the omission of the four players was “as expected” after there had been fitness doubts raised about all of them heading into the clash against the Hornets.
Unsurprising
It won’t come as a huge surprise to not see any of those players arriving at Elland Road as none of them were expected to be involved on Saturday.
The biggest blow will be Gnonto after it was confirmed the Italian forward picked up an ankle ligament injury in the 0-0 draw against Hull City on Wednesday.
That means someone is going to have to step into the 19-year-old’s shoes, with Crysencio Summerville impressing off the bench at the MKM Stadium.

There has been positive news released about Dallas this week, as the Northern Irishman has rejoined the rest of the squad in full training, but this game comes far too soon for him to be involved after missing the best part of the past 18 months.
Bamford and Firpo haven’t been involved yet this season, so their continued absence will come as no surprise as they look to regain their fitness.
In other Leeds United news, one player could be set for a permanent Whites exit following an £82million development.
