Four changes as Struijk returns: Leeds United confirm starting XI v West Ham
Marcelo Bielsa has made four changes to the Leeds United line-up that starts against West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday.
Leeds’ official Twitter account confirmed ahead of kick-off that Pascal Struijk, Stuart Dallas, Adam Forshaw and Raphinha have all returned to the starting line-up.
Leo Hjelde and Lewis Bate have been dropped to the bench with Sam Greenwood injured and Diego Llorente suspended.
Rodrigo also returns from his injury and claims a spot on the bench despite El Nacional reporting that the Spain international has told Bielsa he wants to leave Leeds amid interest from Barcelona.
Time to kick on
If Leeds can go out there and beat West Ham then it will not only prove a lot of doubters wrong but it would also see us take a major stride away from the Premier League’s relegation zone.
Norwich beat Everton on Saturday while Newcastle have been splashing the cash and Burnley have several games in hand so there’s definitely a chance for the Premier League’s current bottom three to catch up with the rest of the pack.
As it stands, six points separate Leeds and 18th-placed Norwich but we have two games in hand on them and a win versus West Ham would shoot us well clear of the drop zone.
We need to be looking at teams like Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Southampton and trying to be on par with them because they are the teams that should be doing enough to avoid the drop.
Leeds will have it tough against West Ham, there’s no denying that.
David Moyes’ side is in great form and have been superb all season in both Europe and the Premier League.
However, as shown last week, we can give them a game and the side should be stronger this weekend than it was in the FA Cup and we hope that VAR won’t mess things up for us yet again.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are ready to make a bid for this £8million-rated central midfielder from an in-form English side.
