Former Manchester United keeper Ben Foster waxes lyrical over Javi Gracia after Leeds United beat Wolves in Premier League

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster has waxed lyrical over Javi Gracia after Leeds United beat Wolves 4-2 on Saturday.

Foster has worked under Gracia at Watford and admitted that he’s extremely happy for him as he got out of the relegation zone and up to 14th place.

While the Spaniard would not have liked to concede two goals, it was important to pick up the three points.

Foster said on his YouTube channel, “That’s a massive result for Leeds. I’m buzzing for Leeds, Javi Gracia, at Watford, absolutely loved him.

“Proper manager. Seriously proper. Nice and composed, calm. Gets his team playing properly. The 4-2 may not be his favourite result but a win’s a win at this time of the season.”

Big win

Foster is right. It was a huge win for Leeds and Gracia will be delighted at how the stars aligned perfectly for an important away win.

Leeds’ form on their travels has been abject, to say the least and to take three points away from their fellow relegation candidates will make this all the more special.

The attackers were on song in this game and they made the most of Wolves’ defence being all over the place.

Yes, Gracia would not have liked conceding two goals and can consider himself fortunate at being awarded the fourth goal and for the referee to not give a penalty after Junior Firpo’s incident in the box, but he will have been proud by what he’s seen.

The Spaniard will go into the international break relieved that his side isn’t in the bottom three and hopefully, they can pick up wins against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace in April.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites may have yet another injury concern going into the international break as player has trouble with his left ankle after the Wolves win.
